First of all, make sure that you have the following documents ready:

  1. A valid international passport
  2. A document that certifies that you had lived in Ukraine prior to 1st January 2022 (you may use a real estate purchase agreement or tenancy agreement; a certificate of employment or study; a bank account opening certificate; an account statement with expenses in hryvnia; or a stamp in your international passport)
  3. For children under 18 years of age:
    • A birth certificate
    • A letter of consent for international travel from a parent (if the child travels with the other parent)
    • International passports of both parents

If you do not have a valid international passport, you may apply with an expired one that has a formal extension stamp. Also, other documents are suitable, for example a civil passport or a driving licence, but in this case it is not possible to apply remotely, and you will need to visit a visa centre.

The letter of consent for the child’s international travel is written in a free format, but make sure you:

  • Confirm that you are indeed a biological parent of the child
  • Give your permission for issuing your child a visa and for his or her departure to the UK, accompanied by the second parent
  • Indicate the name of the sponsor providing accommodation to your family
  • Indicate full names of the child and both parents (as shown in your international passports)

Then you need to get the documents ready in digital form. Scan or photograph the documents, so that the text is clearly visible. Documents should be uploaded in the PDF format, so please convert them beforehand if needed. The name of the file should be chosen according to its content.

If the document is in Ukrainian, you will need to translate it into English. In this case, the PDF file should include the English translation first, followed by the original document. There is no need to notarise the translation.
