Helpline

At BHSU, our dedicated helpline is on-hand to help Ukrainians at any stage of their journey.

Staff speak both Ukrainian and English and offer free end to end support to any Ukrainians looking to travel to the UK. They can provide an overview of the process to reach the UK, explaining the routes that are available to Ukrainians to apply for temporary residency and the rules and regulations they must abide by.

We can support Ukrainians who already have a nominated sponsor and for those who don’t, we can begin the process of finding a British resident who is willing to host and sponsor them to come to the UK.

We provide free assistance throughout the process of applying for a visa, helping complete the necessary paperwork and ensuring Ukrainians meet the requirements at each stage. For many Ukrainians, our assistance is integral to navigating language barriers and understanding the conditions of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

Our help does not stop once Ukrainians have found a sponsor and reached the UK. We continue to support both Ukrainians and their hosts throughout their time here. This includes making sure everyone is able to communicate well and bridge any cultural differences; ensuring children are able to enter the British school system with ease; and directing Ukrainians towards educational and training opportunities to help them get back into work and rebuilding their lives.

Whether someone is just beginning their journey to the UK or has been in the country for several months, we are here to offer guidance and support.
